For nervous flyers
Quieter than your last flight tracker.
A free feature for nervous flyers. No turbulence forecasts. No noise. Works offline.
What Calm Mode does
- Plain-English status, even with no signal. Climb. Cruise. Descent. Last known altitude. Estimated time to next phase. All cached before takeoff so it works in airplane mode.
- "It is normal" reassurance cards. Bumps during climb-out, wing flex on takeoff, the engine power reduction at 1,000 feet. All explained in plain language and reviewed for a calm tone.
- Breathing-pace timer. A simple visual pace. No notifications. No streaks. No gamification.
- Quick "share my flight" link. So someone you trust can see the flight status without installing the app.
What Calm Mode does NOT do
- No turbulence forecast. We will never show you predicted bumps. Research from the nervous-flyer community is unambiguous: forecasts cause anxiety, not comfort.
- No "expect rough air" push notifications.
- No upsell while the feature is active. Calm Mode is free, and it stays free.
- No marketing tracking. Calm Mode is designed as a quiet, on-device surface.
Privacy, specifically here
Nervous flyers are particularly sensitive to apps that capture data during stressful moments. Calm Mode runs entirely on-device once the flight is cached. No location is sent. No screen-time events. No ad SDKs (we have none, anywhere in the app).
